Voor Mandy Wanmaker staat familie centraal. Haar oma was haar veilige haven en vaste baken in het leven. Het rotsvaste geloof gaf Annie de nodige steun en kracht, met de rozenkrans als tastbaar symbool van haar devotie. Vandaag de dag heeft het schilderij een bijzondere ereplaats gekregen in de uitvaartwinkel van Mandy. Zo waakt zij, met haar vertrouwde blik, nog altijd over de mensen die haar zo lief waren.
