Een Leven in Beeld

In dit portret komen verschillende werelden samen. Alex passie voor cricket zie je terug in zijn krachtige, atletische houding. Als eerbetoon aan zijn tijd bij de Royal Air Force heb ik zijn officiële rang subtiel verwerkt. Maar de meest persoonlijke details vertellen het verhaal van verbinding: de olifant op zijn borst staat symbool voor zijn vrouw Janet, die hij voor altijd dicht bij zijn hart draagt.

Alex  handen in dit werk heb ik geschilderd naar het voorbeeld van de handen van zijn zoon, Andrew.
Zo is ook hij voor eeuwig verbonden met de beweging en het leven van zijn vader.

A Life Woven Together

In this painting, several defining elements of a life are woven together. His love for cricket is captured through his athletic posture, while the symbol of the Royal Air Force serves as a tribute to his service. Most significantly, the elephant on his chest symbolizes his wife, Janet—placed intentionally over his heart.

A deeply personal layer is found in the hands; they were painted using his son Andrew's hands as a model. In this way, Andrew is also held close, forever part of his father’s strength and legacy.."
