Dit schilderij is een persoonlijk eerbetoon aan mijn groei en de ruige schoonheid van de Schotse Hooglanden. Het maakproces werd diep geraakt door het verlies van mijn geliefde man, Lowie, en mijn trouwe hond, Brandy. Hun afwezigheid gaf het werk een nieuwe, emotionele laag en een diepere betekenis.

De symboliek van mijn reis:

​

• Afnemende Halve Maan: Markeert voor mij de afronding van een levenscyclus.
   

• Venus & Jupiter: De 'kosmische kus' staat symbool voor het zoeken naar balans en nieuwe vruchtbaarheid in tijden van rouw.
   

• Maagd & Eenhoorn: Een teder symbool voor puur vertrouwen en de blijvende kracht van ware liefde.
   

• Schotse roots: Door details als de distel en de leeuw eer ik mijn Schotse afkomst.
   

• Roodoranje licht: Mijn belangrijkste boodschap - dat er, ondanks het enorme verdriet en de zware tijd, altijd een sprankje hoop en liefde blijft om naar uit te kijken.

This painting is a personal tribute to my journey of growth and the rugged beauty of the Scottish Highlands. The creative process was profoundly shaped by the loss of my beloved husband, Lowie, and my loyal dog, Brandy. Their passing gave the work a new emotional dimension and a much deeper meaning.

The symbolism of my journey:

• Waning Crescent Moon: Marks the closing of a life cycle.

• Venus & Jupiter: The 'cosmic kiss' symbolizes the search for balance and new fertility in times of mourning.

• Maiden & Unicorn: A tender reflection of pure trust and the enduring power of true love.

• Scottish roots: Through details like the thistle and the lion, I honor my Scottish heritage.

• Red-orange light: My central message—that despite the immense grief and hardship, there is always a glimpse of hope and love to look forward to.
